ABOUT ME
Wendy Foster is a certified Pilates Instructor and Pilates Educator. She has been teaching Pilates since 1999 and practicing Yoga for over 15 years, with a background in climbing and skiing. She practiced Pilates throughout both of her pregnancies- having an unplanned cesarean in 2004 and a VBAC in 2006. She is the previous co-owner of Bodies in Balance Pilates of Portland where she assisted in certifying instructors, taught specialty workshops and developed programs. She has trained Instructors in Oregon, Idaho and Utah and has been a presenter at the OHSU Center for Women's Health Annual conference.
Wendy believes in integrating a variety of movement techniques to facilitate the physical and emotional journey of pregnancy and the postpartum time. By first quieting the body and breathing, it is easier to trust the intuitive process of childbearing and purposeful parenting... This is the foundation on which to create a practice for building confidence, increasing strength, stability & flexibility, and reclaiming posture. Through hands on stretching, postural analysis and an individually designed program, we will work with a variety of props to ground the spirit and invigorate the body!
